V.U.C.A – Volatility, Uncertainty, Complexity & Ambiguity.

The world has been turned on its head in 2020. We have all had to adapt with no warning to all this volatility and learn how to navigate uncertainty as we have never seen before. Coping with complex circumstances in our personal lives and businesses has demanded creative thinking and experimentation in ever-smaller cycles to learn what works and what doesn’t. One person who has thought about this quite a bit is Joanne Perold from agile42. Her belief in agile principles and practices make her well qualified to apply an agile mindset to cope with these changes.

“In this talk, I will share our story about what we as agile42 learned this year, what we tried and how we applied agility to the crazy that was 2020. I will share some of the new things that we created, the processes that we are using and the ups and downs of navigating and surviving as a small business.

We will look at how some of the principles we live by helped us to adapt and change fast enough to keep going.

I hope to see you there. ” – Jo

About Joanne Perold

I am passionate about agility and an ambassador for the people side of software development. I love learning and finding new ways to solve and think about complex problems. Being a coach means I get to put all the passion into practice – watching and helping teams, leaders and individuals grow.
And in my spare time, I enjoy hiking, horse-riding, good food and great wine.

I have worked in the software industry since 2003 in roles ranging from product management to writing functions and creating business intelligence. In 2008 I went on my first Scrum course and discovered the world of Agile and a different approach to developing software. Since then I have worked with teams and organisations to transform and improve the way they work. I am also a Certified Scrum Trainer and more recently a Certified Enterprise Coach, and the director of the local agile42 South Africa Business.
