Dr. Alistair Cockburn coined the phrase: “Agile has become overly decorated”, to describe how he and other authors of the Agile Manifesto felt about agile practices contradicting its roots. In his desire to get agile “back on track” Cockburn labelled Kokoro (“essence” or “heart”) as a fourth, end stage of the Shu-Ha-Ri learning model.
