Having closely monitored the current pandemic situation and the restrictions on venues and travel we feel that we would not be able to provide the kind of experience that you have come to expect from our annual conference. We want the conference to be an inclusive and engaging space where people can freely learn and connect while still feeling safe.
After much careful thought and deliberation the SUGSA committee have decided to not go ahead with the next Regional Scrum Gathering® South Africa. This was to be an in-person event with both local and international speakers held from the 25th – 26th of February 2021.
We will be deferring the date of our next Regional Scrum Gathering until we have better guidance on when it is safe and best to do so. As you may imagine, this was not an easy decision for us to make as we put in every effort to make this event a reality. We ask for your continued patience and understanding as we recharge and regroup.
We realise the impact this decision may have on your plans and we would love to hear your thoughts, concerns and suggestions as a valued member of the community. Please may you take a couple minutes to share your thoughts with the committee in this form.
If you had already purchased tickets our team will begin processing the necessary refunds as per our terms and conditions.
If you’ve submitted a talk or workshop we will consider how best to align your proposals to whatever a future event may look like. As soon as we’ve made a decision, we will let you know.
We want to acknowledge and thank all of our talk submitters, reviewers, sponsors and community volunteers for all their hard work and dedication in planning this beloved event. This was a tough decision to make in the light of all these efforts but we feel that this is the best way forward for now.
