I’ve worked for the better part of my career in the banking industry with many different and diverse people and teams across various disciplines and in various roles. My passion for working with people has grown over the years and when I was given the opportunity to work with an Agile team as a Product Owner in 2013 where I found a whole new world that I wished I’d discovered years earlier.
I’m excited to work with the passionate group of people on the SUGSA committee making a difference in the Agile community where the learning opportunities will no doubt be endless.

I am a passionate musician, sport person and agilist. Love spending my time in all these three things. Living in Johannesburg for last 7 years almost and loving it. Currently serving people at Nedbank. Overall around 12 years of experience in IT industry. I must say SUGSA is one of the reasons why I am still here in SA

The main thing that excites me in any environment is reminding ourselves that people are people, and not machinery or resources… Emotional beings.
I adore trying things out, new ideas, finding new or better ways of doing things, self-organising teams, and the empowerment of people. I am, instinctively, a connector of and with people. In my experience, a good flow of communication is the cornerstone of any successful relationship; in business or any other area of life. I thrive on, communicating and building relationships.

I am a community builder, a leader and a coach. I like to think of myself as a passionate agile enthusiast on a quest to unlock potential. In true agile form, I work best with fast, iterative cycles that move toward a great delivery. I have high expectations of failing well, defining ‘done’ and delivering excellence.

My agile journey has been laughter’s, frustration and eye opening realisations. Being a scrum master has its moments (successes/failures) but I would not trade it for a second.
Agile has changed many peoples way of work and I hope to be part of that journey while sharing learnings along the way. As the saying goes “Life is a journey, enjoy the ride”

I have had four careers and accumulated many years of technical and management experience, in a broad range of businesses.
When I discovered the Agile manifesto I was excited to see its alignment with my own philosophies. I joined the SUGSA community to learn more about how the manifesto was being applied, and discovered a fabulous group of people.
My big hate is to see abilities, time and effort being wasted. I am always looking for the most effective way to achieve great results.
As a consultant, facilitator and coach I use my own strengths and work experience, combined with a deep understanding of human behaviour, to help create the culture and environment that enables people to do their best work so that both the people and the business can thrive.
